SATTU HALWA
Ingredient
- 1 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee), divided
- 2-3 raisins
- 2-3almonds
- 2-3 pistachios
- ½ cup sattu flour
- 5 cups hot water
- 1 tablespoon jaggery powder
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
Direction:
- Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan. Roughly chop all the dry fruits and fry them in ghee till golden brown. Once done, keep it aside.
- Now add ½ cup sattu flour in the same pan and roast it really well for 7-8 mins or until it changes colour to slight golden brown. Meanwhile, heat 1.5 cups of water in another pan.
- Once the sattu flour is roasted well, add water in 2-3 batches and keep mixing to incorporate the flour with water. Keep stirring for 2-3 mins.
- Now add jaggery powder and again mix well till the jaggery is melted and halwa thickens. This will take about 4-5 mins.
- Once the halwa gets at correct consistency, add the roasted dry fruits and ½ teaspoon cardamom powder.
- Mix everything well and finish off with another tablespoon of ghee. Remove and serve!
