Red Masoor Dal:
Ingredients
- 1 cup red masoor dal (red lentils)
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the red masoor dal and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain and cook the dal in 2 cups of water until it’s tender.
- In a pan, heat ghee or oil and sauté cumin seeds, onion, garlic, and ginger.
- Add turmeric powder and salt to taste.
- Mix the cooked dal with the spice mixture and serve.
