Red Masoor Cheela without Tomatoes!
Here’s a simple recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 cup red masoor dal (red lentils)
- 1/2 tsp gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
- Water, as needed
- Oil or ghee, for cooking
Instructions
- Soak the red masoor dal overnight and grind it into a paste.
- Mix the dal paste with gram flour, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Add water to make a thick batter.
- Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladle of the batter.
- Cook until the edges start to curl and the surface is dry.
- Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
