MAKHANA KADHI

Ingredients:

 

For Karhi:

 

Besan            30 g

Curds            100 g

Salt                1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder              1/4 tsp

Water                       2 glasses

 

For Baghar:

 

Oil                  1 tbsp

Hing              a pinch

Cumin seeds                       1/4 tsp

Coriander seeds                 1/4 tsp

Whole red chillies              2

Fenugreek seeds               1/4 tsp

Red chilli powder              1/4 tsp

Curry leaves            a few

 

Method:

FoR  Karhi

  • Beat the curds. Add besan, salt and turmeric powder. Add water and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.
  • Add hing and fry a little.
  • Add whole red chillies, cumin, coriander and methi seeds and fry a little.
  • Add curry leaves and red chilli powder and stir.
  • Add the besan batter and cook the mixture with constant stirring till it starts boiling.
  • Reduce the heat and continue cooking with occasional stirring for about 20 minutes.
  • Add pakoras and cook for few minutes. Remove from fire and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with chopped coriander leaves.
